With access to 4.5 million artifacts from every continent, Manchester Museum is a vital research facility for the University of Manchester. The neo-Gothic building is centrally located on the university campus, so you can combine a museum visit with a tour of the university grounds. In 2011, the museum opened Living Worlds, an exhibit that encourages visitors to reflect on their own attitude toward nature. The Ancient Worlds exhibit involves a hands-on approach to explore the work of archaeologists. In 2013, Nature's Library opened to the public holding thousands of artifacts against the backdrop of Gothic Revival architecture. So great to finally come here after the refurb. It's a beautiful building with so much to see. Even when it was busy it wasn't bad to navigate. My daughter loved the dinosaurs. It's also great there's a picnic area. A really great place to visit.

It was really nice to be there… A very well managed and maintained museum. There is a lot to do there for children and adults. The dinosaur section is the best. It all takes you to back in time and helps you visualise how it would be back in those times. I guess its about your imagination powers too. I really enjoyed!
