Budapest — 4 nights

Pearl of the Danube
You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.House of Terror Museum and Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galeria) will appeal to museum buffs. Fisherman's Bastion and Liberty Statue are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Matthias Church, examine the collection at Memento Park, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Dohány Street Synagogue, and appreciate the history behind Shoes on the Danube Bank.
