Unofficially dubbed the Capital of the North, Manchester is known for its influence on industry and music, as well as its world-renowned connection to sports.
National Railway Museum and Royal Air Force Museum Midlands will appeal to museum buffs. Your inner history buff will appreciate Lyme Park and Sizergh Castle. Explore Manchester's surroundings by going to York (York Minster, Treasurer's House, &more), National Trust - Chirk Castle (in Chirk) and The British Ironwork Centre (in Oswestry). Next up on the itinerary: take in the pleasant sights at Malham Cove, look for all kinds of wild species at York Bird of Prey Centre, contemplate the long history of Saltaire Village, and examine the collection at The Manchester Museum.
