Beraban hosts one of the most enigmatic temples on the island. Located in the south, on a rock just offshore, the Hindu temple is said to have been built by the Hindu priest Nirartha in the 15th century. Important to Balinese spirituality and mysticism, the temple can be reached on a walk through many stalls selling souvenirs, gifts, and snacks.The coloration and impressive design of the temple are a draw for most visitors. The tiered rock formations of the coast highlight the region, which can have high waves and strong currents.
