This was a very nice experience, especially if you're a history buff. I recommend giving it enough time to properly visit the artifacts.

There are some really insightful exhibitions here. Most of the time you have English translations. The museum is quite large, and unfortunately I couldn't visit all of it as it was closing at 17h30. It's a great place to learn about Hungarian history. Not extremely interactive, but very informative.

Very cool to visit, giving you a well-structured and fun tour through Hungarian history all the way from the stone age. Great for children too with lots of lifesize exhibits. Don't expect an art museum though...this is dedicated to the Hungarian history. Texts are in Hungarian and English, staff is friendly. Paying extra to see the temporary exhibitions isn't worth it in my opinion unless the specific topic interests you.
