Visit the oldest standing synagogue in the Americas, Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue. The community can trace its roots to the 1650s, when Spanish and Portuguese Jews who had been living in the Netherlands and Brazil came to Curacao. The current building dates from 1730 and displays an attractive colonial style, with yellow-hue walls and white ornamentations. Step inside to see the well-preserved interior's many striking features, including three vaulted ceilings and a central chandelier. An onsite museum details the history of the synagogue and Jews in the Americas. Lovely experience learning about the religious history of the Spanish Portuguese jews. The space speaks holy. There is also a museum that shares further, the rich history. Only US$10 per person and males must wear skull cap while in the Synagogue. Open Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
