Budapest— 6 nights
Pearl of the Danube
You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.Take a break from the city and head to Tagore Promenade and Priest's Island (Pap-sziget). Get some cultural insight at Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral and Budapest Pinball Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Bozso Gyujtemeny (in Kecskemet), Art Glass Parad Kft (in Paradsasvar) and Visegrad Citadel (in Visegrad). Pack the 25th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Aquaworld. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Citadel, awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area, see the interesting displays at Memento Park, and take a stroll through Vaci Street.
