You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Head to Andrassy Avenue and Herend Porcelain - Hadik Shopfor plenty of shopping. Relax by the water at Roman Beach and Tagore Promenade. Get out of town with these interesting Budapest side-trips: Eger (Minorita Templom, Kovacs Nimrod Winery, &more), Mor (Geszler Family Winery & Csabi Miklos' Cellar) and Nemzeti Botanikus Kert (in Vacratot). There's much more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), test the waters at a local thermal spa, contemplate the long history of Fisherman's Bastion, and admire the landmark architecture of Matthias Church.

For ratings, where to stay, other places to visit, and other tourist information, read Budapest journey planning website.

In April in Budapest, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 5°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
