Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture. And it doesn't end there: ponder the world of politics at Hungarian Parliament Building, examine the collection at House of Terror Museum, test the waters at a local thermal spa, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika).

In February, daytime highs in Budapest are 7°C, while nighttime lows are -1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
