Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Thu): steep yourself in history at Stavropoleos Monastery, thenappreciate the extensive heritage of Old Town, and then catch a concert at Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Roman). Keep things going the next day: stroll around Herăstrău Park, thenadmire the landmark architecture of Muzeul National al Satului "Dimitrie Gusti", and then steep yourself in history at Manuc's Inn (Hanul lui Manuc).

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Step off the beaten path and head to Liberty Statue and Spas & Wellness. Get some historical perspective at Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church. There's still lots to do: get a sense of history and politics at Hungarian Parliament Building, take in the views from Szechenyi Lanchid, appreciate the history behind Heroes' Square, and pause for some serene contemplation at University Church.
