Experience an authentic Adriatic lifestyle in Split, the largest city along the sea's coast.
On the 5th (Sat), take a stroll through Riva Harbor and then explore the ancient world of Diocletian's Palace. On the 6th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: stop by Filigran Split, then steep yourself in history at Old Split, and then steep yourself in history at Historic City of Trogir.

Kick off your visit on the 8th (Tue): browse the eclectic array of goods at Viktualienmarkt and then admire the natural beauty at Nymphenburg Palace. Here are some ideas for day two: engage your brain at Deutsches Museum and then contemplate the long history of Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.

You can fly from Split to Munich in 5.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
For shopping fun, head to Andrassy Avenue or Central Market Hall. Explore hidden gems such as Buda Castle and Liberty Statue. There's still lots to do: admire the landmark architecture of Matthias Church, steep yourself in history at Halaszbastya, see the interesting displays at House of Terror Museum, and pause for some photo ops at Shoes on the Danube.

Getting from Munich to Budapest by flight takes about 5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. Traveling from Munich in August, expect Budapest to be somewhat warmer, temps between 82°F and 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to travel to Amsterdam.

Known as one of the greatest small cities in the world, Amsterdam charms visitors with its cool and cozy atmosphere.
The Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery and Anne Frank House are good opportunities to explore the local culture. For shopping fun, head to Leidseplein or Albert Cuyp Market. There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Van Gogh Museum, browse the exhibits of Museum Het Rembrandthuis (Rembrandt House), make a trip to De 9 Straatjes, and get engrossed in the history at Verzetsmuseum Amsterdam.

Traveling by flight from Budapest to Amsterdam takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. While traveling from Budapest, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Amsterdam, ranging from highs of 72°F to lows of 56°F. Start off your visit on the 17th (Thu): pause for some photo ops at Manneken Pis, then examine the collection at Musical Instruments Museum (MIM), then examine the collection at Horta Museum (Musee Horta), and finally examine the collection at Belgian Comic Strip Center.
