Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Sat): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Temppeliaukion Church, pause for some serene contemplation at Helsinki Cathedral, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali), then don't miss a visit to Senate Square, and finally learn about all things military at Sea Fortress Suomenlinna. On your second day here, take an in-depth tour of Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum and then stroll around Nuuksio National Park.

Valletta, Malta to Helsinki is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry, bus, and train. The time zone difference moving from Central European Time (CET) to Eastern European Time (EET) is 1 hour. Traveling from Valletta in September, things will get cooler in Helsinki: highs are around 19°C and lows about 8°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sun) so you can travel to Stockholm.
