Home to the burial ground of the Swedish monarchs, Riddarholmen Church represents one of the oldest buildings in the capital city and is used to this day for commemorative burials (although the congregation dissolved in 1807). The church was originally built in the 13th century as a monastery, but was closed and transformed into a Protestant church following the Protestant Reformation. Of particular interest are the coats of arms of passed knights of The Order of Seraphim that hang from the church walls. 參觀過北歐多間教堂，這所教堂雖然不大但外觀算是宏偉，然而內部比較平實不華。連信眾參與崇拜的椅子也非常樸素，可能配合這裡是國王家族安息之地吧 more »Over the Northern Section Church, this church is not very small but the exterior is a grand, but the interior is not flat. The chairs of worship are also very vegetarian, perhaps in conjunction with this is the resting place of the king's family.
A very beautiful church with many helpful explanations. Also available are texts in various different languages explaining the church. All the coats of arms are displayed very beautifully. You can really feel the historic vibes around here.
This church contains the graves of some members of the royal families and some notable aristocratic families. Plus, a collection of plates with the Order of Seraphim awarded to some notable personalities over time. You can visit it by buying a separate ticket (50 krona) or a combined ticket with the Royal Palace (200 krona). Emblematic is the the tower’s roof, lace-like structure.
