Housed in what was once a home to Count and Countess von Hallwyl, Hallwyl Museum (Hallwylska Museet) gives a glimpse into the life of Swedish royalty, particularly during the Victorian period. The estate was given to the Swedish government in 1920 on the grounds that it would remain unaltered. Today you can walk the halls of this preserved historical home, which exhibits about 50,000 objects and artifacts collected by its former tenants. The Countess acquired many pieces of art during her travels with the intention of eventually founding a museum. Along with the Skokloster Castle and the Royal Armory, this national museum is part of a government agency grouping that educates visitors on the history of Sweden. • One of the attractions that we will take to our hearts. Each room is own and gorgeous. The pieces of furniture are positioned with taste, the chandeliers are to be admired, the upholstery is superb. The landlady treated herself well, and she left us this house as a gift: a museum with a capital M.

  • A time bubble from Stockholmssocieteten in early 1900 speeches. Fantastic to see how the upper classes lived at that time and a gem that you can easily look around in a good hour. Tip is to add 80 crowns on a guided tour so you get to see a little more behind the closed doors!

  • The museum 5/5. Stunning if you're interested in history. Friendly and well informed staff. The restaurant 3/5. Despite a wonderful setting and good service, the loud noise from the bar section as well as a main course that didn't meet the expectations made me feel there was room for improvement.
  • This place is actually a museum / bar / restaurant. But i think it’s only occurred during the summer. I went to the bar/restaurant, not the museum part. The most unique part of this place, I would say, is the building. Old-style Scandinavian building. Price is a bit higher than regular bars, but it’s worth the money. Beautiful restaurant.
