Primates' Palace (Primacialny palac), Bratislava

Once the residence of an archbishop and the site of the treaty that would dissolve the Holy Roman Empire, Primates' Palace (Primacialny palac) today serves as the office of the mayor. Visit the palace, finished in 1781 and now open to the public, and admire its ornate facade featuring a wealth of neoclassical architectural designs. Make your way to the main attraction, the lavishly decorated Hall of Mirrors, which witnessed the signing of the 1805 Peace of Pressburg. Don't miss seeing the inner courtyard, complete with a statue of St. George, and the 17th-century English tapestries, which have survived in their original state for centuries. • This palace with a rich history includes beautiful rugs and even paintings of Dutch and Flemish Masters, with the biggest surprise "a bull of Potter"! The Treaty, closed after the Battle of Austerlitz, is in a beautiful showcase. There are also mirror rooms and furniture to admire.

  • The primates palace in the centre of the city is a must see for any visitor. It's a beautiful building from the outside and easy to find. Entry is very reasonable and students can get a discount. Lots of interesting rooms and information on its history is readily available. I would recommend not missing out on the view of the chapel from above at the end and the hall of mirrors.
  • beautiful place but it could use more information. There are no signs saying what you are visiting
