Veli Bej Bath, Budapest

4.1
#8 of 66 in Spas in Budapest
Give yourself the royal treatment at Veli Bej Bath, the city's oldest Turkish bathhouse. Budapest is well-known for its thermal springs, one of which the Ottoman conquerors chose as the site for these baths back in the 16th century. In addition to the original architecture, you can take advantage of many modern features, such as Finnish and infrared saunas, Jacuzzis, massage showers and a series of thermal pools. The healing properties of the water are especially beneficial to people who suffer from problems with bones and joints. Massages are available at additional cost, and the complex also includes a cafe. Keep in mind, however, that only visitors older than 14 are allowed to enter. • We went to these spas after reading the various reviews that classified the other Spas more confusing and less clean. In fact we were very satisfied with the cleanliness, the organization and the absolute absence of chaos that allows you to really relax in this place. Certainly if we had not read the reviews we will never have entered that modern and very ugly building, practically without reception which looks more like a nursing home or a rehabilitative residence for the elderly. Passed this first atrium you get to a real reception which reminds you of any pool on our side. So too the locker room (lock with electronic bracelet) and showers But after this part you dive into a magical atmosphere! The large octagonal pool with a dome illuminated by many lights catapults us into another world! Water and environment spotless. Sauna and Turkish bath really clean and comfortable. Low cost (approx. €10.00 for 3 hours) Remember to bring shampoo-shower, conditioner for the ladies, towel, bathrobe.

  • It is an establishment somewhat away from the tourist circuit, due to a long period of closure for modernization years ago. It combines atmosphere and modernity. But as soon as a "group" of tourists invade, speaking to kill-Tete, and making few cases of the tranquility of other users, the main basin becomes unlivable, given the very strong resonance. It has the advantage of working on the basis of 3h periods, which prevents groups from intruding too long, and discourages lovers of non-stop heckling days. Good location, clean and well maintained
