While it offers excellent views of the city, Szechenyi Chain Bridge serves as a historic landmark itself: It's the first bridge to span the Danube River in Hungary. Built by English engineer William Tierney in 1849, this structure connects the east and west side of Hungary's capital city. The bridge features two road lanes, plus a pedestrian zone for those traveling on foot. Cross this well-known symbol of Budapest, marvel at its stone structure, and compare both sides of the city. Visit Széchenyi Square on the Pest side of the bridge, or head up to the Castle Hill on the Buda side. Nice bridge! (Y) Good to walk on. Didn't break. Might try strolling over it again tomorrow. There are some nice lions on each end - you can hope that they won't eat you when you walk past. Maybe they will even eat another tourist so you have enough space to walk across without being stomped on by tourists ;)

Budapest is an amazing City to visit, with great views and cultural land marks. A must see and highly recommend to walk over, is the Chain Bridge. The bridge is a great connection point between both cities (Buda and Pest) and is very walkable from other local significant monuments.
