St. Jost Church Reviews
Kostel svatého Jošta je k vidění na konci Latránu a je jedním ze dvou nepřehlédnutelných kostelů v Českém Krumlově. We only admired the church from the outside, we knew in advance that it no longer serves the original church mission, but that it is in the interior of the Marionette Museum. Beautiful church, definitely worth noting.
お城近くの橋のそばにある教会。尖塔の丸屋根がとても印象的。緑青色で丸帽子のよう。お城の塔、聖ヴィート教会の塔とあわせ、いい特徴になっています。 more »The church by the bridge near the castle. The round roof of the spire is very impressive. Like a round hat in green blue. The tower of the castle, along with the Tower of St. Vitus's Church, is a good feature.
A small church in the center of Old Krumlov. It stands out among dense buildings of 2-4 storey houses, with its high pointed dome. The Church of St. Jošta was founded around 1330 and is located on the embankment of the Vltava river in Český Krumlov. The building is a two-storey temple with a towering bell tower. Originally the temple was dedicated to the Holy Trinity and was given to the old town by Protestant believers who carried out charitable activities in the city, caring for the sick. But after the death of the elder Temple departed Catholics, they repaired it in a Baroque style and renamed the Church of St. Josta. However, the temple did not long serve its religious purpose, already at the end of the XVIII century it turned into a living room. So far, the temple has been given commercial purposes.
The hospital with the Church of St. Jošta founded the Krumlov Emperor Peter I. Von Rosenberg around the year 1330. The hospital provided basic arrangements for the sick and poor inhabitants of the city. From 1594 to 1599, the original church was rebuilt and a new tower was built at the same time as the architect Dominik Comettou.
