Nobbys Beach, Newcastle

#1 of 17 in Beaches in Greater Newcastle
Beach · Nature / Park
Perfect your kite surfing skills at Nobbys Beach, the area’s safest and most popular beach. Lifeguards are on duty every day of the week here, year round, making this part of the coast a favorite spot for inexperienced swimmers and apprentice surfers. This is the first beach on the popular Bather’s Way coastal walk, featuring rest areas with picnic shelters, free barbecue facilities, and food kiosks. Spend a day swimming, surfing, or relaxing on the sand, and be sure to visit Fort Scratchley, located atop a knoll overlooking the beach. The fort is a good vantage point to see and photograph the harbor and Stockton Beach across the water.
